The European Environment Agency (EEA) is organising an open competition with a view to recruiting a contract agent to work as Project Manager in the field of transport and environment and further with a view to establishing a reserve list.
Under the responsibility of the Head of Group – Air pollution, transport and noise, reporting to the Head of the Air and Climate Change Programme, the Project Manager shall be responsible for managing and supporting work in EEA’s core areas of work related to transport and the environment.
The position will entail the following tasks:
Managing the reporting processes for transport and environment information reported by EEA member countries e.g. under the EU Fuel Quality Directive, and CO2 emissions from transport, in particular through data collection, processing, quality checking and improvement processes;
Performing advanced numerical analysis and quality assurance/quality control measures on the transport and environment data and associated information;
Supporting or leading the preparation of different EEA products, including indicator factsheets, web-based data viewers, reports, briefings etc.;
Contributing to capacity building activities to assist EEA Member and cooperating countries with EU reporting obligations in the area of transport and environment;
Network and communicate the results of targeted assessments to relevant audiences, including European Commission services and working groups, EEA member countries, expert and research communities and the media.
Candidates applying must satisfy the following eligibility criteria on the closing date for the submission of applications:
a) Successful completion of university studies attested by a degree relevant to the field concerned of at least 3 years, plus 1 year of appropriate professional experience;
b) A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience after achieving the qualification set out above.
